With only a few weeks of the season left, the Lone Peak Boys Tennis team has a record of 8-4 overall, 7-3 in region and is currently in 2nd place in Region 4.
With eight of the top 12 players from 2010 having graduated or moved, this years team has met with great success in what is clearly a rebuilding year. Leading the team this year is our captain, junior Scott Bohne who has gone 11-1 this year at 1st singles. Scott’s work ethic, calm demeanor on the court and his savvy court sense have demonstrated why he is the team leader. Other Varsity contributors this year have been Tanner Squires and Stafford Thomas in singles and the doubles teams of Scott Christiansen and Blair Robbins as well as Jens Nielsen and Ammon Story. Kevin Schvaneveldt has made some crucial contributions this year on the Varsity squad. Others seeing some Varsity playing time include Matt Zwick and McKay Newell.
The Knights finish up their season next week with matches against Brighton and Hillcrest. The JV squad will complete their season on Saturday April 30th with an all region tournament while the Varsity prepares for their Region tournament on May 4th & 5th with the State Tournament the following weekend.
